Glenfinnan

Description

Described as one of greatest railway journeys in the world, the 84 mile round trip takes you past Ben Nevis; by Britain’s most westerly railway station Arisaig; passes close by the deepest freshwater Loch in Britain, Loch Morar and the shortest river in Britain, River Morar, finally arriving at the deepest seawater Loch in Europe, Loch Nevis. It also crosses the 21-arched Glenfinnan viaduct made famous by Harry Potter.

The Jacobite train is named after the Jacobite political movement in the highlands and runs from July to November and what started out as a once daily service, proved so popular, that in 2011, west coast railways added a second daily Jacobite service during peak season from June to August.
