Trooping the Monochrome

Description

A year where the UK’s Trooping the Colour was cancelled for only the 2nd time in the Queen’s 68 year reign. Here you can also see the @londoneye appearing behind Horse Guards Parade.

Horse Guards Parade is the ceremonial parade ground in St James’s Park. It dates from the eighteenth century and was designed by William Kent, the Chief Architect to George II. However, the site was originally a jousting courtyard built by Henry VIII.

The building is guarded by two mounted cavalry troopers of The Queen’s Life Guard who are posted outside daily.
